The white disappears and with it our lives

Immense masses of ice and snow, life has made its way even in these extreme conditions that are lived in the two poles, the Arctic and Antarctic. These are differentiated by being composed of sea ice and glacial ice. The Arctic is floating ice and Antarctica is a frozen continent. We tend to forget the importance that these have in our lives and on the planet, the question that we should all ask ourselves from time to time is: Why are we letting them disappear?

We are at a crucial moment when we must act or suffer the consequences of our actions. Disappearances of cities due to floods because of the increment in sea level, increase in heat and cold waves, reappearance of diseases, etc. Is this what we really want for our future?

Rampant consumerism is taking our life away, shall we let it also take the planet’s life?

You can climb that highest frost tipped mountains and work towards receiving its good tidings. It is along this journey that the peace of nature will follow you and flow through you much like the sunlight through the trees. The fresh breeze will revitalize your senses and blow away your cares, falling around you like snow.

Patience is what is needed in the Antarctic. Wait. Give wind and tide a chance to change – Richard E- Byrd.

This quote is all about the importance of patience. As winds and tides change slowly over time in one of the coldest places on earth, so do we need to be patient and wait for the change or the transformation we desire for our lives.

You are skating on very thin ice.

You are placing yourself in danger by engaging in risky behaviour or negative attitudes.

When something freezes, it remains solid. That is the key to the arctic – they didn’t fear the cold, they made use of it. Wade Davis

When you take control of your fear, you will discover more rewarding ways to live your life.

It is better to ski across the arctic and to think of God than to stand in church and think of sports. -Fridtjof Nanson
